Next week, animator Bill Plympton will show San Diego Comic-Con attendees never-before-seen clips from his upcoming animated film, Cheatin‘, but here The Hollywood Reporter debuts an exclusive clip ahead of the Con. The two-minute video shows the frighteningly muscular Jake arming up with enough outlandish weapons to cover his massive physique.

Plympton raised $100,000 for the project on Kickstarter and hand-made each of the 40,000 illustrations that compose the film. The Kickstarter campaign page describes Cheatin’ as “an animated adult tale of love, jealousy, revenge and murder — full of nudity and violence but also with my surreal sense of humor.” In it, Jake, who we’ve already seen has the violence covered, falls in love with Ella before a scheming “other” woman drives a wedge between them.

During his noon panel on Thursday in Comic-Con’s Room 23ABC, Plympton will announce official release details for Cheatin’, slated for sometime next month, in addition to sharing clips from the upcoming film and his other recent work. The following day, Comic-Con will stream Plympton’s short film Drunker Than a Skunk 2 in Hall 2 of the Marriott Marquis and Arena.
