Daisy Ridley is in talks to star in the Holocaust drama The Lost Wife. The film was penned by Marc Klein (A Good Year, Serendipity).
The story centers on a young Jewish woman who is separated from her husband when the Germans invade Prague and uses her talents as an artist to survive until the couple is miraculously reunited decades later in America. It is based on a book by Alyson Richman.
Robbie Brenner, whose passion project Dallas Buyers Club (2013) landed a best picture Oscar nomination, is producing Lost Wife via The Firm, where she is president of the film division. Jeff Waxman and Michelle Chydzik also are producing.
Ridley, who became an in-demand star thanks to her turn as Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is repped by CAA, which is packaging Lost Wife and putting together financing.
Ridley recently signed on to star in Marielle Heller’s Kolma, which Force Awakens helmer J.J. Abrams is producing for Paramount. She also will reprise her role as Rey in the next Star Wars outing, Episode VIII, which is set to bow Dec. 15, 2017. Ridley also is narrating and executive producing the English-language version of the Sundance documentary The Eagle Huntress.
The British actress is additionally repped by Sloane, Offer.
Klein is repped by UTA, Kaplan/Perrone and attorney Karl Austen.
