Sony Pictures has released the official trailer for Damsels in Distress, the new comedy from director-writer Whit Stillman about a group of co-eds at an elite East Coast university.
The film co-stars Greta Gerwig, Adam Brody and Analeigh Tipton, who portrayed Steve Carell‘s babysitter in the 2011 rom-com Crazy, Stupid, Love. In Damsels in Distress, Stillman’s latest project in more than a decade, Tipton plays a transfer student brought into a clique led by Gerwig, whose mission is to prevent suicide in depressed students through tap dance classes, among other highbrow efforts.

Aubrey Plaza, whose droll, Daria-esque delivery is a comic foil to Amy Poehler‘s perky enthusiasm on NBC’s Parks and Recreations, also makes a cameo.
The film, which has cult potential, premiered at the 2011 Venice Film International Festival, and will be released sometime later this year.
