Dave Foley has joined Jennifer Lopez in the romantic comedy Second Act, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
The STXfilms title follows a big-box store employee (Lopez) who, after reinventing herself, gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as a college degree. Foley will play the role of Felix Herman, a confident, suspicious, white-coated chemist with questionable ethics who works at the F&C manufacturing company, where he has developed some of their most popular skin care products.
Leah Remini, Vanessa Hudgens, Milo Ventimiglia and Annaleigh Ashford will also star in the feature, which is being directed by Peter Segal (50 First Dates). The script was written by Justin Zackham (The Bucket List) and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, who will produce with Lopez and Benny Medina.
Known for his roles on the TV shows The Kids in the Hall and NewsRadio, Foley’s recent credits include a series-regular role on ABC’s Dr. Ken as well as guest-starring roles on Justified, Hot in Cleveland, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and The Middle. He also has appeared in the films Sky High, A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters University, Blast from the Past and South Park: Bigger and Longer, among others. Foley also wrote and starred in the film The Wrong Guy, and directed the Kids in the Hall documentary Same Guys New Addresses, based on one of the group’s recent tours. He is repped by APA.
