David Castaneda is joining the Billy Crystal/Ben Schwartz comedy We Are Unsatisfied.
The feature, from first-time director Matt Ratner, is about the unlikely friendship between a struggling stand-up comedian from L.A. (Schwartz) who is forced to move back home to Eastern Long Island, and a charismatic, alcoholic dermatologist (Crystal).
Castaneda will play Ruis, the friendly security guard/aspiring police officer boyfriend of Schwartz’s onscreen sister.
Kevin Can Wait writer Peter Hoare wrote the feature that will be produced by Ratner, Chris Mangano and Rick Rosenthal. Matt Bronson, Matt Jacobs, Bert Kern, Alexander R. Madorsky and Nick Morton will executive produce.
The movie is set to go in front of cameras this month in New York.
Castaneda is set for Lionsgate’s Sicario follow-up, Soldado, which stars returning players Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin. He is repped by Don Buchwald and Associates and Colin Stark.
