Paramount has won a bidding war for Cold Storage, the debut novel by veteran screenwriter David Koepp.
The pickup follows a publishing deal that Koepp, who wrote the original Mission: Impossible movie as well as Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, made earlier in August with Ecco/HarperCollins. That deal was described as being a “significant seven-figure deal,” according to insiders.
Plot details are being kept in the dark but sources tell THR that it is a genre play that involves an escaped virus.
Koepp will produce the adaptation with Gavin Polone (A Dog’s Purpose, Zombieland). He will also write the script.
Koepp is prepping to direct You Should Have Left, a supernatural thriller to star Kevin Bacon and being produced by Jason Blum. Koepp is repped by CAA and Myman Greenspan.
