David Thwaites Joins Miramax as VP Film

Indie producer David Thwaites is joining Miramax Films in the newly created position of vice president film. He will report to Zanne Devine, executive vp film and TV, as the company ramps up its film activities.

Thwaites most recently served as a producer of Crouching Tiger II: The Green Destiny. He also served as co-president of production at Phoenix Pictures.

“We are very excited to boost our growing production and development activities with an industry executive of David’s caliber. David has great network reach, creative intuition and production savvy,” Devine said.

Next up for Miramax is Mr. Holmes, starring Ian McKellen and directed by Bill Condon, which it will release with Roadside on July 17.
