NEW DELHI — The world premiere of Walt Disney Pictures India’s live action debut Zokkomon will close the 9th annual Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) on April 17. Written and directed by Satyajit Bhatkal, Zokkomon is described as an “adventure of an ordinary boy who finds the strength to face extraordinary challenges.”
The film will see a limited theatrical release in the U.S. in April 22, and stars child actor Darsheel Safary along with veteran actors Anupam Kher and Manjiri Phadnis.
The festival opens on April 12 with director Nila Madhab Panda‘s I Am Kalam, the story of a young boy who struggles to get an education over seemingly insurmountable odds. The film is partly inspired by India’s former President Abdul J Kalam.
