DreamWorks Animation has announced that Maggie Wilderotter has joined the studio’s Board of Directors.
Since April 2014, Wilderotter has served as the executive chairman of Frontier Communications, and also serves on the boards of Juno Therapeutics and Costco Wholesale Corporation, as well as a number of other private and non-profit organizations.
Wilderotter also served on the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee and was designated Chairman of NSTAC from October 2012 to November 2014.
“Maggie’s broad experience as both a chief executive and board member at a number of diverse companies will be an invaluable asset for our board as we move forward,” said DreamWorks Animation Chairman Mellody Hobson and CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. “We are thrilled to add this respected voice to our boardroom.”
Wilderotter is the second woman to join the Board of DreamWorks Animation, alongside current Chairman, Hobson.
She will join fellow directors Thomas E. Freston, Harry Brittenham, Lucian Grainge, Jason Kilar and Michael Montgomery on the board of the animation studio.
“My business background in media, entertainment, internet access and technology will enable me to help DreamWorks Animation continue to grow and transform,” said Wilderotter.
DreamWorks Animation is responsible for Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon.
