Getty ImagesMark Sourian, who has served as DreamWorks co-president of production for the past three years, is segueing into a first-look production deal with the company. It was announced Wednesday by Stacey Snider, co-chair and CEO of DreamWorks.
Sourian, who will remained headquartered at the company’s offices on the Universal lot, will take on several projects including Need for Speed and Starbuck, both recent acquisitions by the studio with start dates in the next six to nine months, as well as A Dog’s Purpose.
“Mark has spent his entire career to date at DreamWorks and we expect to see his tenure continue far into the future. Mark is going to be an excellent producer and we’re so gratified that he’ll be doing it for us,” Snider said.
Sourian joined DreamWorks in 1997 as a development executive, working his way up through the ranks until reaching his present position. During his tenure, he worked on such projects as The Ring, Red Eye, The Kite Runner, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, I Love You, Man and Real Steel.
