Alloy Entertainment and Southpaw Entertainment are partnering for a music-driven love story titled Anything But Ordinary, developing the project simultaneously as a book and a film.

Emma Roberts and AnnaSophia Robb are attached to star in the drama while Sanaa Hamri is attached to direct. Charlie Craig wrote the original story and the screenplay, which was also worked on by Liz Garcia and Lisa Barrett.
Producing will be Richard Lewis of Southpaw, which originated the project. Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein will executive produce.
The project is being put together independently but on the book front, Ordinary already has a home. Hyperion bought the project at auction from Alloy, with the book to be written by debut author Lara Avery.

Ordinary is the story of a seventeen-year-old diving phenom who suffers a tragic accident during her final Olympic trials. When she wakes from a coma five years later, as a 21-year old, she is considered a medical miracle. But what no one else knows is that the young woman has become a synesthete, processing words and numbers through color, the third dimension and sound.
Alloy, which has a strong TV presence (it has seven shows on three networks), is making a strong push into film, developing several projects with high-profile creators. Among the projects are The Luxe with Fake Empire and Paramount and Sweep with Vince Vaughn and Universal Pictures.
Among the projects Southpaw is working on are Alan Loeb’s Out of This World and The Englishman, with Pierce Brosnan attached.
Hamri, who directed Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, is repped by ICM and Larry Kennar.
Roberts, repped by CAA and manager David Sweeney, was last seen starring in Scream 4 while Robb, repped by CAA and Untitled, starred in the inspirational drama Soul Surfer.
