Social media and the Internet lit up Thursday afternoon over 20th Century Fox’s first trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class.
Within the first hour, the trailer became one of the top five trending topics on Twitter (another topic was Egypt). Watch the trailer here.
And within the first 30 minutes, people with huge Twitter followings linked to it, including Ryan Seacrest, who has 3 million followers.
The Facebook page for First Class added 100,000 new fans within hours of the trailer’s release (there’s now a total of 1.8 million fans). Fox releases First Class June 3.
In addition, X-Men: First Class was the No. 5 topic on Yahoo’s homepage two hours after the trailer’s release.
