This story is Feature Partner content presented by HP and was not created by the editorial staff of The Hollywood Reporter.
“Technology has made filmmaking more accessible to the indie world,” said Dope star, Allen Maldanado, one of the many up-and-coming actors who traveled to Park City for Sundance Film Festival this year. “Before, you had to have a fairly large budget to execute certain things. Now, with cameras that are affordable, it allows your creativity to really shine. Technology … allows the little man to work.”
For the 13th year in a row, HP served as the presenting sponsor and the official information technology provider of Sundance. With its hands-on workshops at the HP Film Labs, interactive demonstrations at the Sprout Studio, on-site print lab and more, the HP Sundance House invited festival attendees and filmmakers to learn about the brand’s end-to-end filmmaking solutions, further cementing HP’s connection to the independent film community.
“Never before has the film industry seen such demand for rich content, dynamic audience interactions and new types of on-the-go consumption,” says Susan Popper, HP’s Senior Vice President of Experience Marketing. “HP works with customers to navigate this new environment and transform their technology — from concept and production to distribution and even marketing. At Sundance, we showcase the innovations that help studios and cinemas become more effective behind the scenes so they can focus on what really matters.”
Watch the video above to see Maldanado, Experimenter leading man Kellan Lutz and James White stars Christopher Abbott and Kid Cudi visit the HP House and discuss how technology has played a role in their personal and professional lives.
