In the final trailer for Annie, the orphan’s long-lost parents are actually a major presence.
“Please take care of our baby — her name’s Annie,” reads Quvenzhane Wallis as the title character. “There’s half a locket around her neck so when we come for her, you know she’s our girl.”

Will Gluck‘s reimagining of the movie musical also stars Cameron Diaz as the mean-spirited orphanage supervisor Miss Hannigan. The film, produced by Jay Z and Will Smith, hits theaters Dec. 19.
