YouTube creators Benny and Rafi Fine continue to expand their television footprint with a comedy series for truTV.
The Turner-owned cable network announced Thursday that it has picked up 10 half-hour episodes of Six Degrees of Everything, a comedy hosted by the producing duo in which they try to prove that anything in the world can be connected in six degrees. The series, which will debut this summer, will combine sketch comedy, man on the street interviews, original songs and reality segments.
The Fine Brothers became popular on YouTube for their React comedy franchise and now boast more than 160 million monthly views across their network of YouTube channels. Last year they struck a deal with Nickelodeon to bring React to the children’s network through the half-hour series ReactToThat.
As the duo’s YouTube audience continues to grow, they’ve also increased emphasis on TV production, hiring Big Brother veteran Brandie Tucker to head up a newly formed alternative TV division within their Fine Brothers Entertainment production company.
Six Degrees of Everything is executive produced by the Fine Brothers and Max Benator. Marc Summers will executive produce for Marc Summers Production. WME, which reps the Fine Brothers and Summers, negotiated the deal.
Six Degrees‘ pickup was announced alongside renewals for truTV series Hack My Life, How To Be a Grownup, viral video clip show truTV Top Funniest and an expanded first season for competition series Barmageddon.
