An image of Tom Hardy starring as both twin brothers in a fresh take on the life and times of the infamous East End London gangsters Reggie and Ronnie Kray has been released.
Legend details the secret history of 1960s London and the events that secured the infamy of the Kray twins across the criminal underground and the British media.
Hardy stars in Legend, written and directed by Brian Helgeland (42) based on John Pearson’s book The Profession of Violence.
The movie is backed and produced by Working Title Films and StudioCanal and began its shoot this week.
Hardy leads the cast and is joined by Emily Browning (Pompeii), David Thewlis (Harry Potter franchise), Christopher Eccleston (Thor), Chazz Palminteri (The Usual Suspects), Tara Fitzgerald (TV’s Game of Thrones) and Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service).
Produced by Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner alongside Christopher Clark and Quentin Curtis, StudioCanal fully financed and will distribute Legend in the U.K., France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand and is handling international sales.
Brian Oliver‘s Cross Creek has acquired North American rights, and Oliver is also a producer on the film.
