“That is so fetch.”
Forever Fest 2014 will feature a 10th anniversary screening of Mean Girls and the premiere of Amira & Sam when the annual event returns to Austin, Texas.
The fest, a weekend celebration of girlie pop culture, will take place Nov. 14–16 at the newly renovated Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar & Highball.
“I am excited to watch Forever Fest continue to evolve,” said Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO Tim League. “Forever Fest shares a spirit with the similarly initialed to Fantastic Fest. It is built upon a strong sense of community, a clear programming identity and outrageously fun parties.”
On Friday, Nov. 14, a screening of Lindsay Lohan– and Rachel McAdams-starring comedy Mean Girls will take place, followed by a Q&A with stars Jonathan Bennett (Aaron Samuels), Daniel Franzese (Damian) and Daniel DeSanto (Jason).
On Saturday, the film Amira & Sam will have its Austin premiere with stars Martin Starr, Paul Wesley, Dina Shihabi and director Sean Mullin in attendance. The film follows an Army vet who attempts to assimilate back into a country he barely recognizes while trying to win the heart of an Iraqi immigrant.
Other highlights of the fest include a panel called “Meme Girls: Women on the Internet” and The Spring Fling party where attendees are encouraged to attend dressed as their favorite Mean Girls character.
Badges for Forever Fest will go on sale to the public through drafthouse.com until Tuesday, October 28, and individual tickets to events with remaining seats will go on sale starting on Wednesday, October 29.
