Twentieth Century Fox has picked up The Foundation, a Boom! comic that has Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles scribe Evan Daugherty attached to write the screenplay.
Ross Richie, Stephen Christy and Adam Yoelin of Boom! will produce.
The Foundation is set against the backdrop of Nostradamus‘ books of prophecies. The books made him a rich, and he used his fortune to set up a foundation to stop his visions of the future from happening. The modern-day story follows the foundation team, who try to stop the catastrophes from occuring. The comic was created Kody Chamberlai, written by John Rozum and drawn by artist Chee.
Daugherty is a sought-after writer who did major work on Ninja Turtles, which opens this weekend. He also counts Divergent and Snow White and the Huntsman as credits. His deal was in the mid-to-high six figures, according to sources.
Mark Roybal and Ryan Jones will oversee for Fox.
This is the second major title set up by Boom! since it signed its first-look deal with the studio in October 2013. In June, it set up Malignant Man, a comic created by James Wan who is also attached to direct.
Daugherty is repped UTA, Benderspink and attorney Jeff Frankel.
