20th Century Fox has picked up the rights to Doctors, a graphic novel from acclaimed indie comic creator Dash Shaw.
David Goyer is attached to produce via his Phantom Four production shingle.

The story, with shades of Inception and Flatliners, centers around a doctor and his team who can go into a dead person’s consciousness in the form of a memory and temporarily bring them back to life. When a woman hires the doctor to bring back her mother, the act poses an unintended question of what happens when the dead don’t want to return?
The graphic novel hit stores Sept. 24 from Fantagraphics.

Shaw is a cartoonist and animator behind such graphic novels such as New School and Bottomless Belly Button.
Goyer worked on the screenplay for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is now in production in Detroit. He is one of the showrunners and exec producers of Constantine, based on the DC Entertainment character, which premieres Oct. 24.
