Marc Zachary has been named senior vp of business development at FoxNext Destinations, the location-based entertainment division of FoxNext.
He will report to FoxNext president Salil Mehta and work alongside Jennifer Koblosky, FoxNext Destinations vp of projects.
Before joining the company, Zachary was vp, business development and operations for Disney Consumer Products & Interactive Media, where he worked on franchise extensions including augmented reality initiatives and theme park shows. In his new role, he will lead FoxNext Destinations’ business deals and partnerships across theme park attractions and location-based entertainment worldwide.
The unit is developing the 20th Century Fox World theme park in Malaysia’s Genting Highlands and an Alien-themed, free-roam virtual reality experience with IP2 Entertainment. FoxNext Desitination’s current projects include Alien Escape at Madame Tussauds London; Avatar: Discover Pandora, an interactive touring exhibition currently in Bangkok; and FX’s American Horror Story at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios.
Said Mehta: “As we look to aggressively expand our plans around theme parks and location-based entertainment, we are fortunate to have an executive as skilled and passionate as Marc on the team. His expertise will help us expand our portfolio to locations around the world.”
