Frank Marshall will executive produce the documentary Boston about the history of the Boston Marathon.
Marshall will produce the Jon Dunham-directed doc through his Kennedy/Marshall banner, with Kennedy/Marshall’s head of documentaries, Ryan Suffern, acting as co-producer. Megan Williams also produced.
Boston will document the race, from its origin to present day, and has been granted exclusive documentary rights from the Boston Athletic Association, allowing the production to use extensive video, photos and memorabilia archives. Marshall ran the race in 1980.
Boston is set to premiere in April 2017, in conjunction with the 121st Boston Marathon.
Marshall recently produced the doc Finding Oscar, directed by Suffern, about the Guatemalan genocide.
