The first footage from Ghost in the Shell is sending Scarlett Johansson into a mysterious underworld.
Paramount has released five short glimpses of footage, which shows Major, the special ops human cyborg hybrid played by Johansson, meet some of the cast of characters. The film is based on the acclaimed Manga and centers on Major, who leads Section 9, an elite task force fighting criminals and extremists.
Rupert Sanders is directing the film, which also stars Takeshi Kitano is as Section 9’s chief of public security, Daisuke Aramaki, as well as Boardwalk Empire alum Michael Pitt is as villain, Kuze.
Ghost in the Shell is set for release on March 31, 2017.
