Sundance 2012: Image Entertainment Herds ‘Goats’

Image Entertainment has acquired North American rights to the comedy Goats, which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The indie distributor plans a theatrical release in the spring.

David Duchovny, Vera Farmiga, Keri Russell, Ty Burrell, Justin Kirk, Graham Phillips and Dakota Johnson star in the story of a fifteen-year-old boy who leaves his luxurious home in Tucson to enroll at an East Coast prep school as he must deal with his eccentric New Age family. Christopher Neil directed a screenplay written by Mark Jude Poirier based on his novel.

Daniela Taplin Lundberg, Eric Kopeloff and Shannon Lail produced.

Goats is a humorous and heartfelt comedy featuring a great cast,” said Image Entertainment acquisitions exec Bill Bromiley. “I am sure that audiences will really enjoy David Duchonvy’s performance as the Goat Man.”
