The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has struck a deal with the digital management and distribution company Yangaroo that will allow its members to view entries for Golden Globe Awards in motion picture and television online.
Yangaroo will host a digital awards system that will allow entrants in the Globes’ 25 film and TV categories to submit their entry forms online and also securely upload films, television shows, digital media productions, trailers, photos and more.
In past years, some of the motion picture entries and many of the TV entries have been made available to HFPA members for online viewing, but this is the first time that the HFPA will have an online entry form system that also has the capability of making the programs available for members to view.
“The Yangaroo awards service will help improve our entire submission and review process, making it more user-friendly and efficient,” HFPA president Theo Kingma said.
“The Golden Globe Awards are one of the great iconic awards shows honoring both motion picture and television excellence, and we are excited to have been chosen for this task of moving the submission and review process forward in the digital age,” Yangaroo chairman and COO Cliff Hunt commented.
The 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards will be held Jan. 10 in Beverly Hills.
