Things got a little crazy while Lily James and Jamie Foxx presented the Golden Globe for Best Original Score Sunday evening.
Cinematic scores have “the power to heighten each moment, to keep us engaged,” Jamie Foxx shared, while simultaneously playfully flirting with co-presenter James. Foxx then declared that the winner was Straight Outta Compton, which wasn’t nominated.
After an uncomfortable moment, Foxx and James shared the real winner, Ennio Morricone for The Hateful Eight.
The Hateful Eight director Quentin Tarantino accepted on Morricone’s behalf, sharing that the revered 87-year-old was his favorite composer — ever. “This is really cool,” Tarantino said. “As far as I’m concerned, he’s my favorite composer. And when I say favorite composer, I don’t mean movie composer, that ghetto. I’m talking about Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert. That’s who I’m talking about.”
