Good Deed Entertainment has acquired all North American rights for The Runaround, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed, and will theatrically release the comedy starring J.K. Simmons and Emile Hirsch in 2017.
Directed by Gavin Wiesen from a script by Seth W. Owen, the film sees Simmons playing a workaholic father who travels to Los Angeles to visit his daughter, only to find her missing. He begrudgingly teams up with his daughter’s ex-boyfriend (Hirsch) to find her.
Analeigh Tipton, Taran Killam, Kristen Schaal and Shannon Woodward are also featured.
The film was produced by Spring Pictures’ Mandy Tagger-Brockey and Adi Ezroni, and Wing and a Prayer Pictures’ Ron Perlman, Josh Crook and P. Jennifer Dana. The Solution is handling international sales.
