Also during the evening, Academy Award nominated director Jean-Pierre Jeunet received the Society’s Harold Lloyd Filmmaker Award, which has previously gone to such 3D visionaries as James Cameron and Ang Lee. Additionally, the award for best 3D independent feature went to Jeunet’s drama The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet.
Winners in feature categories included Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, which topped the category for stereography in a live action movie; 300: Rise of an Empire, for best 2D to 3D conversion; and X-Men: Days of Future Past for best 3D sequence of the year.
The Lego Movie was honored for best animated 3D feature and to How to Train Your Dragon 2 for best stereography in an animated feature. Disney’s Feast was selected as this year’s best animated short.
