Following the departure of Peter Copping, Nina Ricci has appointed Guillaume Henry as the French fashion house’s new creative director.
Henry, who graduated from the Parisian art school Ecole Superieure des Arts Appliques Duperre and then completed a postgraduate program in design at the Institut Francais de la Mode, previously held positions at Givenchy and Paule Ka before becoming the artistic director at Carven in 2009.
“In addition to being an outstanding talent, Guillaume has the characteristics of a major designer: artistic vision, intuition, intelligence, charisma, curiosity, and a remarkable ability to attract the very best,” said Ralph Toledano, president of Nina Ricci’s parent company, in an official release. Indeed, Henry’s designs for Carven were seen on the likes of Zosia Mamet, Gwen Stefani, Blake Lively and Rihanna, so we can only anticipate the famous faces who will wear his collection for Nina Ricci.
The 35-year-old designer will begin his new role on January 5, 2015, with his first collection for the luxury label set to debut during the fall 2015 season.
