Alison Sudol, best known for her music as A Fine Frenzy, will star in Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them along with Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston.
Sudol will play Queenie, the younger sister of Tina (Waterston), who runs into Newt Scamander (Redmayne) when he stops in New York City on his way back home from his travels to find and document magical creatures.
David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter films, will helm the project, which has a screenplay by Potter author J.K. Rowling. The script is taking its cues from Newt Scamander’s Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Potter producer David Heyman is back as producer, this time accompanied by Rowling. Steve Kloves, who wrote seven out of the eight Potter movies, and Lionel Wigram are also producing. The film is set for release on Nov. 18, 2016.
Sudol performs under the musical stage name A Fine Frenzy. She released her debut album, One Cell in the Sea, in 2007, followed by 2009’s Bomb in a Birdcage. Fantastic Beasts will be her big-screen debut. She recently had a recurring role on the popular series Transparent, and she currently stars in the USA series Dig. She’s repped by Don Buchwald & Associates and Atlas Artists.
