If you think you saw Hermione (aka Emma Watson) hanging around West Hollywood last weekend, your eyes were not playing tricks on you.
This weekend she did a little shopping at Intermix on Robertson Blvd and had a healthy lunch at Alan Jackson’s popular eaterie Lemonade on the corner of Beverly Blvd and Almont Avenue. The Harry Potter star is in LA shooting The Bling Ring, a film based on the real-life tale of a gang of fashion and fame obsessed teens who robbed the houses of stars including Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, Ashley Tisdale and Lindsay Lohan between October 2008 to August 2009.
Watson tweeted last week that she was enjoying work on Sofia Coppola‘s film, due out next year: ‘Filming Bling Ring is going great. As Israel would say ‘we are slaying this!’. Thanks for the good luck messages.’ She’s also keeping her fans updated on her Facebook page.
While WeHo restaurants such as the iconic Orso have closed due to the slow economy, Jackson’s inexpensive, no-frills buffet-style restaurant has lines down the sidewalk for lunch every single day and a strong dinner crowd. Jackson has opened other Lemonades in Brentwood, Venice, USC campus, Santa Barbara, Downtown LA, Pasadena and has plans for one in Manhattan Beach.
Jackson has banned all paparazzi from the sidewalk to give industry folks and celebrities their privacy. Stars are safer on the Lemonade patio than sitting outside at The Ivy on Robertson, where the paps park their cars (with tinted windows) across the road and use telephoto lenses to get candid celeb dining shots.
Asking not to be identified, a waiter told THR, “We get so many stars, but we don’t name names or make any fuss over them. But to have someone like Emma, an actress whom we’ve watched grow up, was pretty cool,” the waiter said, adding that she’s “even more beautiful in person, without makeup.”
After lunch, Emma popped into the Beverly Nails Salon right next door to Lemonade for a quick mani-pedi in a very pretty pale blue polish called Lilac Crush.
If you want to try it, just ask for her manicurist, Laura.
