The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and InStyle on Friday celebrated the appointment of Sylvester Stallone’s three daughters — Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet — as Miss Golden Globe 2017. Sly’s daughters will be the first trio to take the title that has historically been given to a single son or daughter of an accomplished Hollywood star.
Sophia, 20, spoke on behalf of her sisters Sistine, 18 and Scarlet, 14 and said, “It is such an honor … we can’t wait to start!”
HFPA president Lorenzo Soria commented, “With being raised by such role models Sylvester and [his wife] Jennifer [Flavin], we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for these ladies.”
The Stallone sisters will follow in the footsteps of such recent Miss Golden Globe appointees as Corinne Foxx, Jamie Foxx’s daughter; Greer Grammer, Kelsey Grammer‘s daughter; Sosie Bacon, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s daughter; and Francesca Eastwood, Clint Eastwood’s daughter.
Historically, Miss or Mister Golden Globe holds the responsibility of assisting in the Golden Globes awards ceremony, but many previous title holders have gone on to pursue acting careers of their own. Dakota Johnson, Laura Dern and Melanie Griffith all held the title before their film careers took off.
After the announcement, stars flooded the red carpet to celebrate the onset of awards season with a swanky party, sponsored by Fiji Water, at Los Angeles’ newest hot spot, Catch LA. Attendees, including Chris Pine, Aja Naomi King, Jeff Bridges, Gina Rodriguez, Anthony Anderson, Armie Hammer, Edgar Ramirez, Ashton Sanders, Hailee Steinfeld, Jessica Chastain, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Felicity Huffman, Octavia Spencer, Susan Sarandon and Rachel Bloom, among others, were in an exuberant mood. Guests danced the night away, enjoyed delectable eats and snapped gifs in the Moet-sponsored booth — all while the Stallone daughters held center court near the DJ, flanked by both parents.
The Golden Globes will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon on Jan. 8 and will air on NBC.
