“The Cartographers,” a story in Alexander Weinstein’s well-reviewed debut collection, Children of the New World, has been optioned by POW! Productions.
The Black Mirror-esque stories in Children of the New World deal with tension between the lure of technology and the longing for human connection. “The Cartographers” focuses on a character who creates and sells virtual relationships and whose real-world relationships are threatened by his addiction to the virtual.
Theresa Park is the principal behind POW! Productions. Park was a producer on The Best of Me and the Longest Ride and an executive producer on Lifetime’s Deliverance Creek.
