The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards announced Tuesday that Hugo director Martin Scorsese will be honored with their Critics’ Choice Music+Film Award.
The 17th annual event airs on VH1 from the Hollywood Palladium on Jan. 12 for the fifth straight year, adding a live red carpet show before the telecast broadcast on Reelz channel, followed by national syndication.
The two-hour pre-show will be hosted by KTLA’s Jessica Holmes and Sam Rubin, who will also produce through his company Sam Rubin Entertainment. Rubin also hosts the Reelz show Hollywood Uncensored. Executive Producers are Rubin, the Broadcast Film Critic’s Association’s Joey Berlin, Robb Weller and Gary Grossman.
Reelz svp of programming Matthew Singerman said the decision to do the red carpet show is in keeping with the channel’s commitment to programming about movies.
