Gerard Butler, Gary Oldman and Common climb aboard an arctic submarine in the first trailer for Hunter Killer, released Thursday.
Butler plays American submarine Capt. Joe Glass as he leads a group of elite Navy SEALs in a mission to kidnap the Russian president, before time runs out.
“If we don’t pull this off, it’s going to be World War III,” Oldman says in the trailer.
Toby Stephens, Linda Cardellini and Caroline Goodall also star in the film, directed by Donovan Marsh and based on a novel by Don Keith.
Lionsgate will release Hunter Killer in theaters on Oct. 26.
