Longtime ICM Partners motion picture lit agent Nicole Clemens is joining FX as the network’s senior vp series development.
Clemens was a partner and head of the motion picture literary department at ICM Partners, where she had worked for 15 years.
She begins at FX in August.
Despite her long association with film, Clemens’ move into TV, especially FX, is not that far-fetched. She got her start in television – she ran Rod Holcomb Productions at NBC/WB and was a television executive at Spelling Television – and she represents Kurt Sutter, the mercurial creator of FX’s popular Sons of Anarchy.
At FX, Clemens will work with the existing team in developing new shows for the network while it expands its slate of original programming.
“We feel very fortunate that Nicole has decided to make FX her home for the next chapter in her professional journey,” said executive vp original series Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, executive vp and head of series development. “We can’t wait for Nicole to bring her excellent taste and expertise to FX as we continue to grow our original programming brand.”
Other clients Clemens repped included Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid), Neil LaBute (Death at a Funeral), Jason Winer (Modern Family, 1600 Penn), Angela Robinson (True Blood), Jennifer Celotta (The Office) and Academy Award winner Ronald Harwood (The Pianist).
They are expected to transition internally and remain with the agency.
