IFC Films has acquired U.S. rights to the robbery comedy Flypaper, which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Hangover scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore wrote the screenplay, and Rob Minkoff directed. IFC will release the film in theaters and on VOD.
Patrick Dempsey, Ashley Judd, Jeffrey Tambor, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Tim Blake Nelson star in the story of a guy trapped in a bank as two different gangs attempt to rob it and end up in an all-night Mexican standoff.
“Since Flypaper premiered at Sundance, we have been truly excited about it,” said Sundance Selects/IFC Films president Jonathan Sehring. “Jon Lucas and Scott Moore’s recent success with The Hangover is a testament to their comedic talents, and we could not ask for a better cast to back up their hilarious script.”
