In the Heights is back with a new trailer in time for the Oscars. The Warner Bros. film based on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway musical took center stage during the Oscars 2021 telecast, with the actor and musician introducing the trailer.
The film, from Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu, initially was slated for summer 2020 but was delayed by COVID-19. Warner Bros. released the film’s first trailer back in December 2019.
In the Heights follows a bodega owner who has mixed feelings about closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after he inherits his grandmother’s fortune. The cast includes Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Melissa Barrera, Leslie Grace, Jimmy Smits, Olga Merediz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Stephanie Beatriz and Dascha Polanco. Quiara Alegría Hudes, who wrote the book for In the Heights, penned the screenplay.
In the Heights is due out in theaters and on HBO Max on June 11.
