In Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar, Matthew McConaughey‘s character travels to space to find a new home for humankind.
Beginning this week, moviegoers will have the chance not only to finally see Warner Bros. and Paramount’s highly anticipated space epic, but also possibly win a space adventure of their own, courtesy of a sweepstakes from Fandango.
In partnership with Paramount Pictures, spaceflight development company XCOR Aerospace and VICE’s Motherboard online channel, Fandango is offering one entry per each Interstellar ticket order made via its website or app now through Dec. 1.
One winner will be selected to embark on a trip aboard the XCOR Lynx Mark II spacecraft, reaching an altitude of 100 kilometers, and will also receive 4g simulator training, as well as round-travel and hotel accommodations at the XCOR spaceport in Mojave, Calif., a prize package worth $100,000. The launch date for the spacecraft will be between Fall 2016 and Fall 2017.
“We’re always looking for innovative ways to add value to our Fandango movie ticket for consumers,” said Fandango’s vp marketing Adam Rockmore. “The Interstellar trip is clearly the coolest prize we’ve ever given to a moviegoer in the 14 years of our company.”
Interstellar stars McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain and opens in theaters in the U.S. on Nov. 7.
