Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar may have received some complaints about its sound when it opened, but apparently, the Motion Picture Academy’s sound branch wasn’t as concerned. The film was nominated for both sound editing and sound mixing Oscars, and composer Hans Zimmer was additionally nominated for its score.
Nolans’ longtime sound team previously won Oscars for sound mixing and sound editing for Inception, and The Dark Knight won an Oscar in sound editing.
For Interstellar, Richard King is nominated for sound editing; and Gary A. Rizzo, Gregg Landaker and Mark Weingarten for sound mixing.
Earlier this week members of the film’s sound team also received nominations from the Cinema Audio Society and Motion Picture Sound Editors.
