Action hero Jackie Chan will be visiting Romania in September reported the website Romania-Insider on Tuesday.
The actor, director, producer, screenwriter and some-time singer is, according to Romanian news media, the star name attached to open the Chinese Film Days festival that will take place in Bucharest.
The Chinese Film Days festival is an initiative of the Chinese State Administration for Media, Radio and Film and Television (SARFT) as well as Romania’s Cinematography Center, and is part of the Chinese government’s concerted effort to push its cultural products into previously untapped markets.

Mihail Kogalniceanu, the general manager of the Cinematography Center, confirmed that Chan would open the festival on Sept. 11 in person with his action-comedy CZ12, the first film to be screened.
Other movies to be screened at the festival include Beijing Love Story by Chen Sicheng, The Grandmaster by Kar Wai Wong, The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate by Tsui Hark and Full Circle by Zhang Yang.
The Chinese Film Days festival opens on Sept. 11 and runs through to Sept. 18. The opening night will take place at the Grand Cinema Baneasa with the rest of the screenings at the Union cinema in Bucharest.
