Netflix’s Metal Lords, to be directed by Peter Sollett, has found its band.
Knives Out actor Jaeden Martell, Isis Hainsworth and Adrian Greensmith are set to star in the coming-of-age comedy about two kids who want to start a heavy metal band in a high school where exactly two kids care about heavy metal.
Metal Lords will be released globally on Netflix later this year. The project, written and produced by D.B. Weiss and executive produced by David Benioff, is the first film to come out of Netflix’s partnership with the Game of Throne creators.
In 2019, the duo left HBO and signed a multiyear overall film and TV deal with Netflix to create and develop new projects for the streaming giant. Benioff and Weiss created and served as showrunners on HBO’s fantasy megahit.
Greg Shapiro is also producing Metal Lords, and Bernie Caulfield and Robin Fisichella share in the executive producer credits.
