James Badge Dale will star as an ex-cop in the drama The Incident at Sparrow Creek Lumber, along with The Alienist star Brian Geraghty.
The Black List script, previously titled Militia, follows a former police officer who is forced out of retirement after he realizes a mass shooting at a police funeral was committed by a member of the same militia he joined after quitting the force.
Patrick Fischler, Chris Mulkey, Robert Aramayo, Happy Anderson and Gene Jones are also set to star. Henry Dunham will direct the feature, which is set to begin shooting next month in Texas.
Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk are producing the film for Cinestate, along with Look to the Sky Films’ Sefton Fincham, as well as Adam Donaghey and Johnathan Brownlee. Shafin Diamond Tejani, Preston Poulter, Steve Gossett Jr., Levi Sheck and Danielle Cox will executive produce, along with Nate Bolotin.
XYZ Films will handle foreign sales, with UTA representing domestic rights.
