James Franco is in another new film about murder and the media, but hopefully this one won’t lead to worldwide conflict.
Franco, whose film The Interview has been pulled from theaters before its Christmas release, stars with Jonah Hill in True Story. Based on, well, a true story, it’s a drama about murderer Christian Longo (Franco), who lived for years under the assumed identity of disgraced New York Times journalist Michael Finkle (Hill).
In a key scene, Finkle doesn’t react well when he’s told that Christian, who has asked Finkle to write his life story, is using him.

Felicity Jones, Gretchen Mol and Ethan Suplee co-star in director Rupert Goold‘s film. It is based on Finkle’s memoir.
Fox Searchlight releases True Story on April 10, 2015. It premieres at the Sundance Film Festival next month.
