James Gunn has had enough.
On Saturday, the Guardians of the Galaxy director sent several messages out via Twitter requesting his followers cool it with the fights over which is better, Marvel or DC.
Gunn explained that it drove him nuts not to be able to mention Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice without a long war of words to follow among his fans.
“Every time I mention anything DC, no matter what, my feed becomes an endless screaming match about BvS,” Gunn began. “You guys are never going to convince each other – it’s just a bunch of wasted energy.”
The Zack Snyder film polarized fans, with some loving it and others feeling it missed the mark.
Gunn told fans their time and energy could be better spent.
“At least when you’re screaming at each other about Trump, it’s something of international importance,” he said. “But it’s a 2 year old movie that some people like and some people don’t. Why is someone else’s opinion so important to you?”
Gunn implored fans to leave one another alone.
“As Marvel and DC super fans you have way more in common with each other than you do with the rest of the world,” he said.
In closing, Gunn told his followers if they couldn’t stand it, and just had to pick on one another, make sure he is not tagged in the post because he is over it.
“I’ve muted a lot of you guys, but not all. Thanks,” he said.

6 So why do you spend so much time raging at each other? It’s silly. Please just stop it. Stop engaging in that way.

7 But at the very least, when you do, untag me. I’ve muted a lot of you guys, but not all. Thanks.
