Brian Duffield, the writer behind Black List script Your Bridesmaid’s a Bitch and upcoming project Jane Got a Gun, will make his directorial debut with the horror-romance Vivien Hasn’t Been Herself Lately. Aldamisa Entertainment and Neal Dodson, Corey Moosa and Zachary Quinto‘s Before the Door Pictures will produce. Nicki Cortese will serve as executive producer.
Duffield, who is currently writing Summit’s YA sequel Insurgent, also wrote Vivien Hasn’t Been Herself Lately. The film follows a married couple as they deal with a supernatural entity. The project is currently casting.
Aldamisa International’s executive vp sales and distribution Eric Min will spearhead worldwide presales, commencing in Berlin.
“Vivien has always been a project close to my heart, and I couldn’t be more excited to be working with such phenomenal producers as Neal, Corey, Zachary and Nicki,” said Duffield in a statement. “Their dedication to making unique, character-driven films makes them the perfect partners to go on this adventure with.”
Before the Door Pictures most recently produced J.C. Chandor‘s film All Is Lost, starring Robert Redford. They are currently in production on Chandor’s third film, A Most Violent Year. Aldamisa currently has two films in post: Jon Favreau‘s Chef and Frank Miller‘s Sin City 2.
Duffield is repped by Gersh and Circle of Confusion, while Before the Door Pictures is repped by CAA and attorney Randy Manis. Jere Hausfater and Philip Elway negotiated the deal on behalf of Aldamisa.
