Sony Pictures International Productions has inked a multipicture development deal with Eduardo Cisneros and Jason Shuman.
Under the pact, the writer-producer team will produce three new feature films aimed toward Spanish-speaking audiences.
Cisneros helped to pen the 2013 feature Instructions Not Included, which grossed nearly $100 million at the international box office. Shuman’s producer credits include Role Models and Lone Survivor, as well as upcoming indie Rebel in the Rye.
In 2014, the Mexico-based writer and Los Angeles-based producer became a team.
“It is an ongoing priority for Sony Pictures International Productions to serve our Spanish-speaking audiences in Latin America and here in the United States,” Laine Kline, executive vp business affairs at Sony Pictures International Productions, said Friday in a statement. “Eduardo and Jason have an exceptional track record for capturing these important communities and beyond.”
Cisneros is repped by WME, Valor and Ziffren Brittenham; Shuman is repped by CAA and McKuin Frankel.
