Michael Buckner/Getty ImagesVictor Salva has signed on to direct the vampire Western title Purgatory, an indie being made by Cat and Mouse Films.
The script, by Denis Faye, centers on a washed-up sheriff and an English vampire hunter who team up to stop a clan of vampires from destroying an isolated, weapons-free town in the middle of the nowhere in 1892 New Mexico.

Cat and Mouse Films’ Nick Sternberg and Jesse Felsot are producing.
Salva is best known for writing and directing the two Jeepers Creepers horror movies. He last directed the 2011 supernatural thriller Rosewood Lane.
Salva is repped by attorney Matt Saver.
