Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Patton Oswalt, Steve Buscemi and Miles Bakshi have joined Alec Baldwin in DreamWorks Animation’s family comedy The Boss Baby.
Tom McGrath (Madagascar, Megamind) is directing the movie, now in production as it heads towards a March 10, 2017, release.
McGrath’s own childhood experiences inform the film inspired by Marla Frazee’s award-winning picture book, which tackles the idea of how a new baby quickly becomes the boss of the family.
The story centers on a seven-year-old who decides he has to win back the love of his parents after the arrival of his brother, a bossy baby, who has uncanny ways of hogging the spotlight. In the process, the brothers discover a secret plot and must unite to save their parents and restore order to the world.
Baldwin is lending his voice to the titular character of the Boss Baby. Kimmel and Kudrow will voice the parents. Buscemi is lending his pipes to the role of Francis E. Francis, the CEO of PuppyCo. Bakshi will play the older brother. Oswalt is acting as the narrator, the older brother as a grown-up.
Michael McCullers penned the script for Boss Baby, which is being produced by Ramsey Ann Naito.
