Star Wars fans, prepare to feel a disturbance in the Force.
Lucasfilm has announced that company president Kathleen Kennedy and Star Wars: The Force Awakens writer and director J.J. Abrams will be making a special appearance at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California to “kick off the show in a big way.”
Details about a “very special Celebration event” — happening April 16 at 10 a.m., launching the four-day event at the Anaheim Convention Center — are being kept under wraps, but considering the presence of both Kennedy and Abrams, it’s not entirely outside the realm of possibility that new footage from The Force Awakens (perhaps even a second trailer) could be premiered at the event. After all, that would kick off the show in a pretty big way…
Tickets for Star Wars Celebration are available now. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, starring John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac, will be released in theaters Dec. 18.
