Forget Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens turns another beloved member of the Star Wars family into a Lego figure, and it’s someone you definitely wouldn’t expect: director J.J. Abrams.
As seen in this exclusive video, the Lego Abrams is as agile and good with a blaster as any of his onscreen leads, running through the block-set version of Jakku, breaking objects and taking on Stormtroopers when he isn’t framing shots and considering the best angle for an upcoming scene, of course.
Abrams isn’t the only real-world playable character in the new videogame. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy also makes an appearance. The director and producer are just two of the 150 characters available to unlock in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, alongside fan-favorites such as Han Solo, Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma. The presence of both executives was kept under wraps until after the game’s release as a surprise for those who dived into the block-build version of the popular movie.
While the movie’s actors return to reprise their roles for the videogame, sadly the Lego Abrams and Lego Kennedy don’t feature voice acting from their real world counterparts. According to developers TT Games, however, the real-life Abrams has seen and approved his animated Lego alter ego in action.
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released this week for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS.
